The Doll House

Miranda got the coolest doll house for her birthday. Aunt Tina got it for her. She put it all together, made everything really cute and picked out all the peices. It is beautiful and so much fun. I couldn't even get Miranda to eat her birthday cake because all she wantede to do was play with her doll house.
Thank you so much Aunt TIna we love it.

Birthday Party

First we had all the kids make there own personal pan pizza, yummy!!
Then of course we had cake and Ice cream

The last activity was a treasure hunt. We ran all around the house to find the hidden treasure.

Man enough to wear pink

Building A Fort

The other day Miranda and I had so much fun building a fort. We played house in it and had story time in it . We had great fun. I use to do this all the time when I was little so I just wanted to pass down the tradition. Thanks for playing fort with us mom. It was great.

Story Time at 6 am

At our house each morning we are up very early. Some days that is out of necessity and some days it is because that it what time our children naturally wake up weather we want them to or not. This morning I had to get up to get ready for work and when I came out of my bathroom this is what I found. Miranda was reading Jacob a book. I have read her this book quit a few times and she was saying all the right words on all the right pages. It was fabulous.
On those morning that all I want to do is sleep in I just have to remember to be grateful for all that I have.

I Finnally Read It

So it has taken me a little while to get around to it, but I decided that I had to read Twilight and see what all the fuss was about. I must say that I enjoyed it alot. I read it in just a few days and I didn't get to much cleaning done during that time.
I can say that it was not what I expected it to be and now I am excited to read the next ones. So for all of you twilight fans out there, I join you and maybe I will be able to convice Steven to see the movie with me(or maybe not and I will have to have a girls night with some friends.)

Our Newest Gadget

We are now officially spoiled, Steven decided that it would be really really nice to have two monitors hooked to our computer to write his dissertation. We now can have two full size documents open and be able to view them at the same time (non of this flipping back and forth stuff) We really are excited and it is going to be great for Steven and school but I can't help but feel spoiled to be able to do it.

The Indy Childrens Museum

On Wed Miranda and I with some friends went to the Indy Childrens Museum. For those of you who have not been to a museum like this everything is very interactive. The kids get to touch and play with so many different things and it is so much fun. Here are just a few pictures.

The kids dressed up as dinosours and had fun playing in the nest

We got to dig for dinosour bones with brushes and picks. I had to drag Miranda away from this because she also got to us a ruler which she loves.

Digging and playing, what could be more fun.?

They have a whole water system with boats and waterfalls

I'm a Cruel Parent

This all goes back a very long time ago. For those of you that didn't know me when I was younger let me explain a little.
As a kid I struggled for a very, very, long time with thumb sucking. If you ask Steve he will tell you that I quit when I was 18, (he doesn't know) it was much sooner then that but I did suck my thumb for a long time.
My Mother thought that when I went to elementary school i would quit because the children would make fun of me. This never happened because I was so cool (and I was pretty tough and would have beaten them up if they did). I finally did stop before I went to Jr. High out of fear of being made fun of.(that's a more sensitive age I guess)
Because of these experiences as a child you can imagine why I am so anti thumb sucking now. I don't want my children to have to go through that. Jacob has been very determined to suck on his hand. I am always taking it out of his mouth and he will not take a pacifier so this method is best thing for it. He often has one if not both hands wrapped with a burp cloth so that he can not suck on it. I know that it is mean but a mother has to do what a mother has to do.
