One of the great things about living next to a lake is the ease of going and playing at the beach. It is almost as easy as going and playing at the park. We hope to spend a number of days at the beach but here are a few pictures for one. The pictures illustrates what happens when you ask three children to come and stand together for a picture but don't have the camera ready at the exact moment.
We had tons of fun playing in the sand and building sand castles. Jackson could spend all day playing with sand and throwing it into the lake. He was in heaven with all the sand and mom not telling him to stop throwing it. (at least when he was far enough away from me:)
Of course we went swimming as well. Miranda has always been my careful girl and in the past few years it has been fun to see her be more sure of herself, so I loved the way she just jumps right in with no hesitation and had tons of fun.
I love my kiddos!!! They are so fun and growing up so big.

Our town recently finished a project that has been in the works for a while. This project is the Little Storm Lake Discovery Center. It is a preservation effort as well as learning center. We had the opportunity to go and check it out last week and it was great. It is a short walk through a wooded area to get to a four story high lookout tower. The picture to the left is us at the bottom ready to go up.
The picture to the left is us at the end of the 100 yard walkway that takes us out to the middle of the wet lands. It was fun for the kids to see how tall the reeds are as well as see some of the wild life that lives in the wet lands, although they were looking for more. We had a great time and it was the perfect length for the kids to feel like we went on the short hike and made a few fun discoveries.
