Merry Christmas

What a great relaxing Christmas. Thank you to our families that support us and got us so many fun things. We love you. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve Party

This year, because we stayed home for Christmas we decided to have a Christmas eve party for some of our other friends that did not go home for Christmas. We had tons of fun. The two families that ended up coming both had boys that were born within a few weeks of Jacob. We had a great meal and had the kids play musical couch cussions. It was a very good time.

The Yearly Family Picture

Like many families my father likes to send out a family picture for Christmas each year. This year was more of a cut and paste kind of thing. In this picture Steven and I are photo shopped into it from a picture on the day of Jacobs blessing. Dad did a pretty good job.
Many if not all of you know that we lost a member of our family this year. My brother, Kirt Wayne Mendenhall passed away this April. It has been a very hard year full of tears and trials. We miss him so much and during the Holiday Season we miss him even more. Even now as I sit and write this blog I cry my eyes out. (Tiffany I am sorry to make you cry) I know that Kirt is watching over us and especially over Tiffany and Ethan.
I would just like to say this holiday season that I am so grateful for all the loved ones that I have around me and the ones that are not so very near. I am so blessed to have the knowledge of the plan of salvation and know that I will see him again.
To Tiffany, I love you and hope that through this Christmas with it being so hard you still are able to find joy in it. (as you already know Christmas Joy often comes through a child) You are so strong and I look up to you for it.
Merry Christmas

Cutting the baby hair

I broke down yesterday and cut the back of Miranda's hair. I couldn't handle it anymore because it was starting to look like a nice mullet.
Her hair is not growing very fast and I wanted it to be all the same length. This morning I used my 3 barrel curler and this is what it did. I think it turned out pretty good.

Our First Snow Fall

On Sunday (Jacob's Blessing Day) we had the first snow fall of the season. It was lots of fun and of coarse we had to go out and make a snow man and Miranda tried to throw a snow ball at me.

Jacob's Blessing Day

This past Sunday we blessed Jacob, well Steven blessed him, and thankfully he didn't change the name on me at the last minute so he is officially Jacob Edmund Mills. It was a great day, Momma Mills was in town for the blessing and that was wonderful.

Momma Mendenhall made the blessing outfit and slippers. Even with him being a big kid his outfit fit him so so well. I was grateful for that.

Thanksgiving Fun

We had a wonderful thanksgiving, especially because I didn't have to cook most of it. Some friends from our ward invited us over and we were happy to go. They have a tradition of having a ginger bread man hunt before dinner. They have the kids make ginger bread cookies, then go and hear the story of the ginger bread man. While the children are hearing the story we hid already made cookies around the house. They had to go and find the gingerbread men that ran away. It was lots of fun.

Jacob's New Toy

Really this is mommy's new toy but it is Jacob's Christmas Present from Grandma Mills. We are so excited to have a swing. I never had one for Miranda and with two children I think it will be great. Thanks Grandma we love it. :)
