The Indy Childrens Museum

On Wed Miranda and I with some friends went to the Indy Childrens Museum. For those of you who have not been to a museum like this everything is very interactive. The kids get to touch and play with so many different things and it is so much fun. Here are just a few pictures.

We got to dig for dinosour bones with brushes and picks. I had to drag Miranda away from this because she also got to us a ruler which she loves.

I'm a Cruel Parent

This all goes back a very long time ago. For those of you that didn't know me when I was younger let me explain a little.
As a kid I struggled for a very, very, long time with thumb sucking. If you ask Steve he will tell you that I quit when I was 18, (he doesn't know) it was much sooner then that but I did suck my thumb for a long time.
My Mother thought that when I went to elementary school i would quit because the children would make fun of me. This never happened because I was so cool (and I was pretty tough and would have beaten them up if they did). I finally did stop before I went to Jr. High out of fear of being made fun of.(that's a more sensitive age I guess)
Because of these experiences as a child you can imagine why I am so anti thumb sucking now. I don't want my children to have to go through that. Jacob has been very determined to suck on his hand. I am always taking it out of his mouth and he will not take a pacifier so this method is best thing for it. He often has one if not both hands wrapped with a burp cloth so that he can not suck on it. I know that it is mean but a mother has to do what a mother has to do.

Horrible sounds

There are certain sounds that you never want to really hear. Most of those sounds are ten times worse when thay happen at 3:00 am. Last night at 3:00 am I heard a little girl puking all over the place. She was scared out of her mind. That makes for a long night and now a long day.
I do have to say the Miranda did an amazing job at getting to the bathroom last night. Although she didn't make it to the toilet she made it to the bathroom which I was very grateful for. Just think if you have never thrown up before how scary it must be. (this would be her first real throwing up moment) Sorry if none of this is very fun to hear about but for now it is my reality. I hope you all have a great day

I've Finally Done It

It has taken me some time to get it all done but I have finished the curtain in my living room and family room.(of coarse that only covers 3 of the 11 windows in our house)

I think they turned out great. I have to say a big thanks to Momma Mills for all her help with this project while she was here.(and for sending me the black out liner after you got home) I had a little extra of the red fabric so I recovered an old pillow that we had in our living room also. I have lots more sewing projects to work on still but it feels good to get one done.

2 month apt

He has been weighed and he has been measured and he certainly has not been found wanting. Yesterday Jacob had his 2 month apt (just a little late). Jacob weighs 15lbs 1oz. Can you believe it. He is a chunk and I love it, his thunder thighs, chubby cheeks and all.

Also for all of you who know Steve's cousin Katie she is fabulous and made the blanket that is on top of Jacob in this picture. We love it, Thank you Katie.

Take a sick day

As a parent it is hard to take a sick day. Steven has been sick for the past few days and I have worked long hours which prevents him from getting to much rest. He is able to find fun ways to entertain Miranda while he can still get a little bit of rest. It looks like they had alot of fun.

Great Big Smile

You can't help but love when a baby starts to really smile.(not the smile because of gas or in the sleep smile but a real smile) Steven has the touch to tickle Jacob and get some great grins.
