Steven ran a 5k this weekend for our town cancer awareness fundraiser. He did a wonderful job and the kids love to watch him and cheer him on. There were 400 people that participated and Steven was in the top 10 people to finish.
Even after running the 5k I am the mean wife that has him come and help rake the leaves. (he runs almost 5k every morning so it doesn't get him off of anything:)
We have a really great community art gallery here in Storm Lake called the Wittery Gallery. They change the art every month and last month they were having a photo contest. Jacob and I both entered a photo (Miranda was working on it but we ran out of time). There was a youth category Age 2-16 and then 17 and older. I am very pleased to announce that Jacob won 2nd place and his photo will also be placed in the calender they make of the pictures. I am so proud of him.

Can you believe that my baby is old enough to be losing teeth. I can't. It has been loose for weeks and yesterday it was driving me crazy because every time she opened her mouth I could tell that her tooth was in a different position so she let me pull it out. Miranda was so brave and it didn't hurt at all.
As previously noted Steven received an I Pad 2 for his new job. It certainly has not been used for work purposes only. We use it each week at church for scriptures, I have a few books on there that I am reading, and have had lots of fun playing games on it. We have a few games on there for the kids put are happy to announce that memory is still much more fun with real cards as are many other games for kids. The one game that they love to play is angry birds. Miranda is getting pretty good at it and Jacob just loves to watch the bird fly and crash into and destroy things. They don't get to play it very often, only when daddy lets them or when he doesn't know.
