The I Pad 2

As previously noted Steven received an I Pad 2 for his new job. It certainly has not been used for work purposes only. We use it each week at church for scriptures, I have a few books on there that I am reading, and have had lots of fun playing games on it. We have a few games on there for the kids put are happy to announce that memory is still much more fun with real cards as are many other games for kids. The one game that they love to play is angry birds. Miranda is getting pretty good at it and Jacob just loves to watch the bird fly and crash into and destroy things. They don't get to play it very often, only when daddy lets them or when he doesn't know.

Rosetta Stone

If you know me well you know that I have started the process of learning to speak spanish many times and life always gets in the way. I can barely sit down with my husband (whom is a Spanish teacher) long enough to find out how his day is let alone enough time to do Spanish lessons with him. On that same point is is difficult to to have a husband wife tutoring session it always ends up with one of us frustrated, but I won't go into that. I have been asked to test the Rosetta Stone program for a friend at Steven's new job and of course I said yes. I have been doing it for 2 weeks and I love it. I feel more confident already and I have been able to stick with it and do it for 1 hour each day.

Next year Steven has a conference in Puerto Rico that I hope to attend with him and I want to be ready for that trip speaking Spanish.

As for anyone out there wanting to learn a language I know that I have only been doing it for 2 weeks but I would recommend Rosetta Stone so far, it has been great.

Jackson's First Birthday

Jackson's first birthday was yesterday and unfortunately he was feel under the weather. I love his little pouty face but those red eyes just make me sad. Even with all of that he was such a good sport, it doesn't show in this picture but he did smile and laugh when he ate his cake, it was great fun.

He is a darling boy and a great eater in all things food. Just yesterday I discovered that he finally has two baby teeth, he has just been gumming things before now.

We love this little boy and are so grateful that he is in our family. What is not to love about those big blue eyes and that crooked smile. He really has been the best natured baby ever and deals with his siblings torments with patience. He is a great traveler and just a good child all around

The First Day of Kindergarten

Here she is so big and starting school. I have been having mixed thoughts about this all week and stayed up all night last night thinking about her going to school. She is ready and so excited. She was also excited because Grandma Mills got her great new school clothes that she just loves and looks so cute in.
We don't live to far from school so we walked her to school this morning. When we left the school Jacob was mad that he wasn't staying at school. He is going to miss his big sister allot!
Jackson is a joy and is also going to miss his big sister because she protects him from Jacob.
She is darling and we love her so much! What a great day for her.

Back on the Radar!!

Hello All!

In case you have been wondering about if we are still in existence, we are! It has been a crazy summer full of changes and we still are not really settled but I thought that I would give an update because everything that we have been waiting for starts TODAY.

First of all a few months ago we had an offer on our house in Indiana, which is wonderful and so we put an offer on a great home here in Storm Lake Iowa. Our plan was to come to storm Lake and move into a temporary rental house for one month and then move into our new house. Well after all was said and done the person that was going to buy our house could not get finances which meant that we could not get financed. We found this out on the day that we drove into Storm Lake so needless to say it was a stressful few days. We have now found a decent home to rent and it is super cheap rent so this might end up being a great thing for us.

Today is a very big day for our family! First of all Steven officially starts at his new job today (really you can't call what he is doing today work because he is getting fed all his meals there and then he is going to "technology training" which mean a company is coming in to teach him all the ins and outs of using his new IPad, and he gets paid and extra $200 from the training company to go :) We are very excited for him to start though. Everything we have experienced with the university has been wonderful and the community seems wonderful. It has been hard for him to sit around and wait for life to begin for a few months.

The Second important things that happens today it Miranda is starting Kindergarten. :0 I would be nervous for he but she is not very nervous she is just so excited. I will do a separate post on this and include some pictures.

Finally the third great thing that is happening today is we get the key to our permanent rental which mean that I can move in this week and unpack boxes and make our place feel like a home and that we live there.
