It is that time of year and we couldn't be more excited. We spent last weekend with some of our best friends hiking with the kids and camping. It was so much fun. When you have 8 children, the oldest of which is 4, you expect crazy things to happen but I am happy to report no serious injuries. Yeah! I am sad to report that I didn't get any pictures of us around the camp site and camp fire, maybe one of the other moms did and that will come later.
We hiked in Turkey Run State Park and camped in Shades State Park. It was a great hike and a great weekend. The pictures above shows the 4 oldest kids Miranda, Jonas, Benjamin, and Karl.

Here we are climbing the ladders along the trail. Steve was good enough to carry Jacob when he needed to be and let him hike when it was possible.

Of course any good hike has a few big rocks to climb and the kids where not about to be left out of anything. (you can't tell from the picture but the rock is pretty steep)

Jacob and Miranda had so much fun. Jacob only got a few bumps and bruises so they are both ready to go for it again.
The real reason that we went this last weekend is because the Hafens are moving next week, the Prices will leave in about a month, and the Bluncks leave at the end of summer. We will miss all of them so, so much, they have been great friends and great support for us during this time in our lives.
We love you and we will miss you.

It's so true that good friends are everything when family is far away. We too have found great friends and some have come and gone but it is hard to say goodbye.
Congrats on being pregnant with a boy! Thats so exciting!!
